integrated labelsWhen readying packages to be shipped, an important item that needs to be used are shipping labels.  A label clearly stating who the shipper is and who it is being shipped to means accountability and it allows the delivery person to deliver the package to the right place.  Besides the label alone, most packages are shipped with an invoice; this document tells the recipient how much the item was, what company sent it out, who may have packed the box, and delivery method and speed.  Most of the time, the person or company that shipped the package out in the first place has a copy of it for their own records – either kept on a computer or an actual paper copy.  Years ago, companies would make separate invoices and then create a label; now, companies can save time by using integrated labels.

Let us talk about a common form many offices, especially large ones, may use on a regular basis: the requisition form.  This piece of paper allows a person to request certain items or office equipment they need to perform whatever tasks they need to get done for the day.  Requisition forms are especially important for requesting higher priced office equipment like furniture and computers.  The company that owns and provides the requested items needs to keep track of their inventory; for one thing, they need to figure out how much of each item they have and if they need to purchase any more, and they also need to keep track of who is getting what.  A form for this purpose not only expedites the request process but creates a paper trail with which to ensure everything goes where it needs to be and accountability is created.
